West Elm Display and Windows
A 2 week store opening, turned into an offer for the Visual team and later in-home client installations.
Wall treatments, cash wrap and hanging display were similar in structure to Anthropologie but on a micro level, lacking any true Display Artist in the company. Because I came from Anthro I was asked if I could make a hanging display near the windows and created a mobile using metal screening, typically used to hide radiators. It was my low tech, low budget concept of clock gears for their Venetian concept. Home Office direction used glitter (lighter touch shown in the carousel) to exude marble. I am a fast painter, and wanted to create art walls in the front of the store with more texture and used a patina* method with salt (break paint and add texture) for movable walls, and later a hanging moon.
Holiday was the next opportunity to create larger displays.
*The patina paintings later led to an assignment with Jane Iredale for product sets several months later.
